Catherine Oxenberg in The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana (1982).

Anecdote: Catherine Oxenberg is a relative of the British royal family, since her mother is the second cousin of Prince Charles. She met Diana in person at the ball just before her marriage to Charles. The actress spoke about this, as well as her role in the film, in an interview with CloserWeekly in 2019: "It was great, because I had met her. The only thing the movie cost me was visits to Buckingham Palace. My mother was very nervous - she was very afraid it would offend Charles, who is her second cousin, but he was very gracious. He said, "Look, they're going to make the movie anyway. At least Catherine can bring dignity to the role."

Catherine Oxenberg in Charles and Diana: Unhappily Ever After (1992).

This American TV movie, directed by John Power, tells the true story of Charles and Diana's failed marriage.

This is the second time that the actress lends her features to Diana on television. She commented: "Diana's life has changed so much since her marriage it was like playing another person. There's so much more information about her now. The character I played the first time was quite one-dimensional, the fantasy of a young girl falling in love with a prince. There was no emotional or psychological drama or struggle or anything. It was what it was. This new film has a lot of levels, dimensions and textures. It's more human."
